Millard Commits Monday Night

Chad Millard, one of many standouts from this year's Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy squad, made his decision Monday night. The 6-foot-8 perimeter standout is headed to Louisville.

Sometimes you just know. Last week Julian Wright committed to Kansas without visiting campus and this week Chad Millard did the same. On Monday evening Millard made it official and told the Cardinals' staff that he wanted to come to Louisville.

"I was talking to [Rick Pitino] on the phone tonight and he said that he wants to bring a guy like me to Louisville – someone who can really play and do well in the classroom.

"I said that I'd love to come and play for a coach like you and I just committed."

Millard was set to visit Louisville a few weeks ago but settle on the date. He'll visit the school once the season begins to see a practice or a game. Millard is prepping this season at Brewster after playing last year at Manchester Trinity.

Known for his deep stroke which is rare for a guy with his size, Millard said that he was close to picking Iowa State but was swayed in favor of the Cardinals.

"I have a lot of respect for Coach Morgan. It was pretty close. I have a lot of family in Iowa and it would have been a good situation for me there but I think Louisville is a better fit for me."

Speaking of fit, he'll roam the perimeter hunting 3's for the Big East-bound Cardinals.

"They're going to use me as a wing and let me take advantage of my versatility."
