"I was talking to [Rick Pitino] on the phone tonight and he said that he wants to bring a guy like me to Louisville – someone who can really play and do well in the classroom.
"I said that I'd love to come and play for a coach like you and I just committed."
Millard was set to visit Louisville a few weeks ago but settle on the date. He'll visit the school once the season begins to see a practice or a game. Millard is prepping this season at Brewster after playing last year at Manchester Trinity.
Known for his deep stroke which is rare for a guy with his size, Millard said that he was close to picking Iowa State but was swayed in favor of the Cardinals.
"I have a lot of respect for Coach Morgan. It was pretty close. I have a lot of family in Iowa and it would have been a good situation for me there but I think Louisville is a better fit for me."
Speaking of fit, he'll roam the perimeter hunting 3's for the Big East-bound Cardinals.
"They're going to use me as a wing and let me take advantage of my versatility."
