Two Visits Down For McGowan

The recruitment of Cyrus McGowan seems to be winding down. After two visits – a third might be in the works – all that left to do is hash out the details of the trips and decide.

Meridian (Miss.) High center Cyrus McGowan, a 6-foot-9 standout, made official visits to Mississippi State and most recently Georgia Tech last weekend.

"It went pretty good," McGowan said. "I toured through the campus. What I really wanted to do was get to know the players and see where they come from and where they are headed. They introduced me to one of the architectural professors and he gave me a lot of information about their program."

McGowan said that from a basketball standpoint, the visits were pretty much on par with each other. "They're kind of the same from the conditioning to the team to everything. There really wasn't anything that threw me off guard."

McGowan did a good enough job in not tipping his hand that he could easy make a final table at the World Series of Poker. At this point, if he's got a leader he's not talking. "I've got to talk to my mom. I wouldn't say either one is in front."

Arkansas is the only other school that potentially could score a visit but still, McGowan says that he might be able to reach a decision by the middle of next week.
