Warren Will Play In ACC

Sam Warren had a number of schools from around the country pursuing him, but he's made his decision and he'll be in the ACC a year from now...

Sam Warren, 6-9 SR C Englewood (Col.) Cherry Creek, has committed to Virginia, according to his mother, Vanita Warren.

Warren, a promising young big man, also considered Nebraska, Pepperdine, Penn State, Nevada, SMU and San Diego, among other programs. Mrs. Warren said Nebraska was the other finalist at the end.

We asked about the factors that influenced Warren's decision and Mrs. Warren replied, "One of the big things was the Media Studies program that Virginia offers. Sam is into digital media and they have a program that offers everything he wants, from film to animation to game design."

Mrs. Warren went on to say, "Sam liked the idea of playing in the ACC, with it being one of the better conferences. He also really enjoyed the staff and just connected with them. And the tradition at Virginia, with it also being one of the top academic schools in the country -- that also was a factor."
