Marcus Williams Makes Decision

Marcus Williams was slated to decide any day between Arizona and Maryland - and the smooth Seattle wing has made up his mind.

Marcus Williams is headed to Tucson.

The 6-6, 190-pound senior at Roosevelt High (Wash.) committed to Arizona on Tuesday morning. Williams was also considering Maryland.

``I'm really excited and looking forward to being a Wildcat," Williams said. "I had a really good visit. It was everything I expected."

Williams took an official visit to Tucson this past weekend and had taken a trip to Maryland earlier in the month. He was also considering UConn, but the Huskies took a commitment from athletic Marcus Johnson earlier this week.

``Getting a chance to meet the players and spend time with the coaching staff was important," added Williams. "It was great to get a chance to know them. It's a great opportunity to play with Hassan (Adams) probably leaving after this year."

Williams is a smooth, versatile all-around player who can score in a variety of ways. He still needs to get stronger and tougher. ``It was an internal feeling I got," Williams said. "I just feel that it's the right place for me to get better and to hopefully get me to the next level."
