2006 West Coast Rankings: Point Guards

An early look at the 2006 West Coast point guards reveals very few players who look to be high major prospects...

The 2006 West Coast point guards are a thin group. There aren't many guys who project as high major players and there isn't great depth at the position. Of course, with two more years of high school to go, there will undoubtedly be some players who improve dramatically. For now, though, this is a very weak year for point guards. Until we see these guys some more, and see some evidence of high major potential, we're not going to rank the group. Lawrence is the one guy who projects as a definite high major prospect. He's got a great feel for the game, with very good quickness. His shot needs to become more consistent, but he's a pure point with excellent vision.

1) Marcus Lawrence, 5-11, Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman
