McGowan Headed To Arkansas

The Arkansas Razorbacks conducted a home visit with Cyrus McGowan Wednesday night. Did they pull it off of did McGowan pick Tech or State?

On Wednesday night, the Arkansas Razorbacks procured a commitment from one of the Top 100 prospects in America. Cyrus McGowan, a 6-foot-9 center from Meridian (Miss.) High, pledged his allegiance to Stan Heath, according to multiple sources.

McGowan, ranked No. 72 in our latest Top 100, is an excellent addition to the Razorbacks young lineup. He had been considering Georgia Tech and Mississippi State. Most, long ago, labeled him a Bulldog based on the fact that 9 of his family members had gone to Starkville.

The center was included in our Top 100, not so much for his developing offensive skills, but for his defense and rebounding. He's got a live body with good athleticism combined with a proclivity to block shots. He's a kid who could wind up enjoying a measure of success earlier than expected because he'll enter college with a strong body and the mindset for rebounding.
