Taylor Headed To The ACC

Hyman Taylor, a 6-foot-9 big man out of Fort Lauderdale is headed to the ACC. Taylor reached his decision on Tuesday.

The Virginia Tech Hokies landed 6-foot-9 power forward Hyman Taylor out of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons. Taylor was a member of the Tallahassee Wildcats team which captured the Showtime National Championship.

Seth Greenberg and his staff built quite a relationship with Taylor who responded to how Virginia Tech recruited him. "He just let me know that he cares about the players and what's going on," Taylor said. "He let me know how the program really runs. Even the big men have the ball at different times. We work on every skill and help you grow."

Taylor visited the Hokies last weekend and it didn't take long to make his commitment. "The program is great and they take care of you. It was amazing."

Taylor, a fairly charismatic fellow, characterized his game this way: "I block shots, rebound and post up over-rated big men."

And for the next four years Taylor will be doing so in Blacksburg for the Hokies.
