Woodbury Finds A Home In SEC

Terrance Woodbury, a 6-foot-6 forward is off the board. The Coastal Christian standout made a visit and a commitment all within the last week.

Terrance Woodbury, a 6-foot-6 combo forward out of the Tidewater Area in Virginia, is headed to the University of Georgia. Woodbury attended Granby High in Hampton last year but is spending his senior season with Coastal Christian Academy.

``It's a good school and I feel like the people coming in - Louis Williams, Mike Mercer and maybe Andrew Bynum - will be a really good class," Woodberry said. "Everything happened kind of quick for me."

Two weeks ago, Woodbury made an official visit to Athens and recently ended his recruitment by selecting the Bulldogs after listening to overtures from UNLV, Nebraska and East Tennessee State.

"A lot of people don't know a lot about him because he was playing the four during the summer and with his high school team and he didn't get a chance to show his talent with so many wing guys [on Boo Williams]," Coastal Christian coach Walter Webb said.

``I just felt like everyone was telling me I would go low to mid," added Woodberry. "But I just didn't get the chance to show my game this summer with Boo Williams."

Webb also said that Woodbury's recruitment took off once recruiters got a chance to see him in a different setting.

"Before coming to us, he was regarded mostly as a mid-major player but we put him in a situation where we were able to get him on the wing. Georgia ended up getting him down on a quick official visit and he enjoyed it and you can't ask for anything much more than playing in the SEC."
