Antonio Porch, 6-6 JR SF Denver (Col.) Denver East, is a long, athletic three man who has improved considerably since we last saw him in the summer. His outside shot is more consistent and he's very active around the basket. He figures to be among a handful of high major small forwards in the west coast junior class.
We spoke with Antonio last week in Las Vegas and he told us that Colorado, Colorado St., Wyoming, Oregon St. and New Mexico all came out to watch him practice early in the season. He doesn't have a leader at this point.
We asked if staying in the west was an issue for him and Antonio said, "No, I just moved here from Peoria three years ago, so I'm willing to leave the west."
Early playing time won't be a big factor for Antonio. " I don't really care about playing early," Antonio said. "Not many guys get to play right away, so if it takes a year or two that's ok. When I get there I'll have a lot to learn."
Antonio told us that he plans on taking his time with the decision. "I'll probably take five trips and see who really wants me," Antonio said. "I do want to go somewhere where I can contribute."
Antonio said he'll no trouble qualifying. He just recently took the SAT and doesn't yet have the results.
