Playstation Returns to the Big Apple

Greg "Playstation" Johnson hasn't gotten quite the attention that his teammate at Holderness (N.H.) has received of late, but the New York native will return to his home state after committing this past weekend.

Hofstra will have another Playstation on its campus.

Greg "Playstation" Johnson, a 6-foot, 170-pound senior point guard at Holderness School (N.H.) who grew up in Harlem, New York, committed to Hofstra this past weekend.

``The biggest difference for Greg between the two schools was location," Holderness coach Jamie Gallagher said. ``For him to be able to play in front of his friends and family in New York was an opportunity he couldn't pass up."

Johnson also considered James Madison and fielded interest from George Mason and Illinois.

``I felt real comfortable with the staff and the players," Johnson said. "At the end, Hofstra was the only school that I really wanted to go to."

``I'm real happy," he added. "Now I can concentrate on other things."

Johnson is a pass-first floor leader who will team with Martynas Pocius and Gerald Carter to form a potent trio at Holderness this season.

``He knows where everyone is and he sees the whole floor," added Gallagher. "It's like he has an internal shot chart and he knows exactly who's getting the ball and who needs to get touches."

``He's so quick," Gallagher continued. "There may be faster guys, but I don't think many are quicker."
