Miles visited the Texas Longhorns over the weekend, completing his official visit slate. Going into visits with Georgia Tech and the Longhorns, Kansas remained the acknowledged leader. However, the Longhorns methodically gave chase to the Jayhawks and at this juncture appear to be the odds-on-favorite to land Miles.
According to Miles' father, Calvin Sr., the visit with Texas went extremely well. "The visit was great, no doubt about that. From the coaches to the family to the school; we've been there a few times unofficially but we never got to tour the school. The atmosphere was good. We watched the team workout and we talked to the players.
"We're going to have a press conference on Tuesday."
The visit clearly moved Texas into the favored position. As is often the case, the longer the recruitment goes, the stronger the home school traditionally becomes. While most, including Scout.com, were under the assumption that Miles would never take all three visits, the Horns slow played their hand, rolled the dice and set their official visit to be his final trip.
In the end, Miles did take more time than we originally thought he needed to decide and in turn, Texas gradually strengthened its position with Miles.
Miles' father acknowledged the strong position Texas is in. "As far as I know, Texas is pretty much the school. We'll talk some tonight."
