2006 Focus: Curtis Eatmon
Curtis Eatmon, 6-2 JR PG Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) Los Osos, was terrific this past weekend at the Fall Classic Showcase and he looks to be one of the elite point guards in the west for 2005. We spoke with Eatmon after the event and asked him about the schools he's heard from to date. "USC, Oregon, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego, Minnesota, Indiana -- those are some of them," said Eatmon. We asked Eatmon if he had any childhood favorites and he replied, "North Carolina and Duke." Eatmon took an unofficial visit to San Diego last weekend and he'll take an unofficial visit to USC this Friday. When questioned about whether or not location would play a role in his decision, Eatmon replied, "I'd like to stay close. My Dad went to USC. I wouldn't turn down a great program back east, but academics and staying close to home will be two issues that are important." We inquired whether any programs stand out for him at this time and Eatmon said, "I like USC. And I like Oregon -- how they run up and down." Eatmon said he plans on making a decision prior to next November. He told us he has a 3.3 GPA.
