Bradshaw Was Up To The Challenge
Imagine being junior guard Dane Bradshaw. You've just been named the MVP of one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country. You read the list of former MVP's and it finally hits you.
"When you look at the book, it's like Kobe Bryant and [Tracy] McGrady and that's really something," Bradshaw said.
White Station defeated Lincoln and Sebastian Telfair 83-60 last week to win the Beach Ball Classic. "We've beaten Christ The King and St. Raymond's before," Bradshaw said. "We knew we could play with those guys from up north.
"Everybody played at the top of their game. Coming into it, we had confidence but after we got there and saw the teams play we knew we could play with any of them. It was a big tournament for us to win."
Expect Bradshaw's outburst at the Beach Ball to lead to increased exposure and more phone calls and mail from colleges. After all, there's plenty of time for schools to go check out this talented junior.
After the event, Ohio State and Clemson inquired. However, Bradshaw says he's leaving his options intentionally wide open and there's no one at the top right now. But, he would like to commit before the summer.
That means he'll spend a good part of the spring taking visits. He's been to Tennessee (the Vols are in good shape) and Notre Dame unofficially. Stanford's watched him and he's visited with Memphis. But again, he's extremely open.
