We spoke with Wallace last night and asked about schools showing early interest in him.
"I'm hearing from a lot of schools," said Wallace. "Hawaii just offered. Some of the other schools are Cal, UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, North Carolina State, Florida, Syracuse, UConn, Georgetown and Gonzaga."
We asked Wallace if any schools stand out from the pack and he replied, "No, I'm wide open right now. I'm planning on trimming my list at the end of the season."
Wallace said he doesn't see himself making an early decision. "I probably won't decide until after next summer," Wallace said.
When questioned about factors that might influence his choice, Wallace replied, "Academics and my relationship with the coach. Staying in the west is not really a big deal -- I'll go wherever."
We asked Wallace if the opportunity to play at the highest level, perhaps for a Final Four, would be an issue.
"I want to go to a contender, but I also want to play," said Wallace. "So someplace that has a chance to win, but also where I could play early would be good."
Wallace told us that he has a 3.2 GPA and he'll take the SAT in March.
