2003 Spotlight: Aaron Brooks

One of the standout players for Rotary Select at the 2001 Big Time was Seattle (WA) Franklin point guard Aaron Brooks. The junior is having a nice season in King County and is currently 7th in the league in scoring.

Brooks Is One To Watch

The Class of 2003 isn't particularly deep at the point guard spot; at least we don't think it is at this point. But, there's a good one in Seattle. Franklin's Aaron Brooks is scoring 17 points a game, good enough for 7th place on the King County 4-A scoring list.

Brooks said that he's hearing from Oregon State, Washington, Nevada, Florida State, Gonzaga and Utah. He says some of the schools have already dropped by to watch him perform this year. His season high in points is 28.

Brooks said he hasn't give much thought about college yet. "I just want to play, period."

In the summer, Brooks showed his game as a quick lead guard who really gets after it defensively. He made jumpers from medium-range, but wasn't a polished deep shooter. He'll take his game on the road again this summer with Rotary Select.
