2006 Focus: Josh Miller

He hasn't received much attention, but Josh Miller could end up one of the better big men in the West Coast class of 2006...

Josh Miller, 6-8 JR C Chino Hills (Calif.) Ayala, is a tough and fundamentally sound young big man. With more development of his offensive game, Miller has a chance to be recruited at a high level.

We spoke with Miller last night and asked him about the schools he's heard from so far.

"Oregon is showing a lot of interest," said Miller. "UConn, Colorado State, Oklahoma State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Depaul, Pepperdine and Stanford also."

We asked if any schools stand out for him and Miller replied, "I really like Stanford. Also Oregon, UConn and Gonzaga."

Miller discussed some of the issues he'll consider when making his choice. "Location is something I'll consider -- I'd prefer the West Coast. Playing time and the coaching staff will also be things I look at. Academics will be very important -- if they're strong in the areas I'm looking at academically. I'm looking to do something in physical therapy or biology."

We asked Miller if he had a timeframe for making his choice and he said, "I'd prefer to wait. I want to take my time and look at my options."

Miller said he has a 4.0 GPA and has yet to take the SAT.
