Aggies Strong With Stores

Brandon Stores could be on the verge of a decision. The well-traveled 2005 power forward cranked up his recruitment when he transferred to Christian Center Academy.

Brandon Stores was rumored to be at a lot of places this fall. From George Republic to Warren Harding to IMG, Stores was linked to a bunch of places. However, he settled in at Cincinnati (Ohio) Christian Center Academy.

Back when we last laid eyes on him in the summer, Stores was an athletic 6-foot-8 and no more than 195 pounds. Now, according to Christian Center Academy coach Travis McAvene, he's shot up.

"There's no 6-foot-8 about him, he's every bit of 6-10," McAvene said. The coach also said he's about 218 pounds right now.

Apparently, once word got out where Stores had settled in at, his recruitment took another step forward. Plus, according to McAvene, he's averaging 24 points and double-digit rebounds.

New Mexico State got on him early and it could pay big dividends. "He's flying out [Tuesday] to New Mexico State," McAvene said, "Southern Miss has offered him too."

The Aggies could easily wind up experiencing some good news in the next few days. "I think he'll verbal over the weekend at New Mexico State unless something changes," McAvene said.

Georgia, UNLV and Auburn have expressed interest in Stores. However, it's been NMSU that has been dogged in its pursuit.

"They've flown in here twice in the last 10 days," McAvene said.
