"I always wanted to go to Maryland and then when they gave me the offer to commit, it was like a dream come true," Milbourne said. This weekend, after a Friday night game, Milbourne and a relative will make the drive to College Park for an unofficial visit.
Right now, Milbourne is staring at an offer from Maryland and interest – but no offer – from Georgia Tech. This one could end over the weekend during his visit.
"Yeah, I could [commit]," Milbourne said. "They said that I could commit whenever I choose to."
A good student and combo forward, Milbourne's high school coach has nothing but praise for him. "He's going to be a great one I think," Jack Teague said. "He's got great jumping ability. He can play inside and outside. If I had about a dozen of him we'd be in business."
Milbourne ran with the Georgia Stars last summer and attended the Nike Hoop Jamboree. He's capable of playing both the small forward and power forward roles but is more comfortable on the perimeter. "I'm most comfortable at the 3 position. I never really post up, I never have. If I get the ball I always face my man and I like using my ball handling skills a lot."
