Junior Headed To The ACC

Landon Milbourne, a 6-foot-7 junior forward, fulfilled a dream last weekend. During an unofficial visit to an ACC school, Milbourne offered up a commitment.

Going into his unofficial visit last weekend with the Maryland Terrapins, Landon Milbourne knew what he wanted do. In fact, the 6-foot-7 forward out of Alpharetta (Ga.) St. Francis, went as far as to say it would be his dream to lace them up for the Terrapins.

Well, consider it a dream come true because the Salisbury, Md., native is headed to College Park in the fall of 2006.

Milbourne, after spending some time with the assistants and Gary Williams, realized his opportunity. "After [visiting with the coaches] I pretty much had my mind made up," Milbourne said.

The athletic, multipositional forward was told that he'd play the small forward and Williams "guaranteed me that I was going to get better."

"He said that he'd play me at the three and that I was the perfect fit for the offense."

The next step for Milbourne is to take his official visit which he'll do sometime in January. For now, he's content on fielding calls from nearby relatives who are hearing that he's headed home.

"I don't even know how they are finding out but they just keep calling."

Milbourne now becomes a recruiter for the Terps and said priority No. 1 for Maryland seems to be Vernon Macklin, Scout.com's No. 5 prospect in America.
