2006 Focus: Joe Harden

Joe Harden, a 6-5 wing from Stockton, talks about some of the programs showing interest in him...

Joe Harden, 6-5 JR SG Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary's, has a great feel for the game and the skills to potentially play at the high major level.

We spoke with Harden yesterday and asked about the programs he's heard from lately.

"Stanford, Washington, Gonzaga, Valparaiso, Pacific, UC Davis, Arkansas, Arizona State...I was hearing from USC, but I don't know about them, since they'll be bringing in a new coach," said Harden.

We asked Harden if there are any schools he's sure he'd like to visit and he replied, "I'm not sure yet. I don't know how serious some of them are, but they're all interesting to me at this point. Pacific has come to a couple of my games. UC Davis has been also. Stanford wants me to come to a game or practice."

An excellent student, Harden said he anticipates having a 4.0 GPA when he gets his grades for this semester.

Harden said he doesn't have a real timeframe for making his decision. "Hopefully, sometime before next season," said Harden. "But I'll just have to see how it goes."
