2003 Spotlight: Tim Morris

Those who have been down to see Atlanta (GA) Whitfield Academy winger Tim Morris have come away impressed this season. The high-major recruit should draw attention from some big-timers in the next few months.

Morris Having Nice Season

At the Nike All-American Camp last July, Tim Morris was a standout. The 6-5 shooting guard displayed plenty of skills including a smooth pull-up, a deep stroke and a penchant for finishing. It looks like he's building on that success this high school season.

More than one college coach has been down to watch him and come away favorably impressed. Morris' 21-point a game average and his team's 21-3 record will do that to you.

"I'm playing the all-around game and also playing a little stronger going to the hoop," Morris said Tuesday night. He plans on returning to Nike Camp this season and traveling with the Georgia Stars.

So far, Vanderbilt, Stanford, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Furman have been down to see him. "There are a few more but those are the ones off the top of my head." A closer look at those schools tells you that Morris has pretty nice credentials in the classroom as well.
