Bernard Rimmer SEC-Bound

When Bernard Rimmer left for Bridgton Academy (Maine), he knew he wanted to go back south for college. Now, after getting everything in order, it appears as though it's a reality.

When athletic forward Bernard Rimmer decided to go to Bridgton Academy (Maine), it was basically assumed that he'd head back south for college – pending his academics were in order.

Well, the 6-foot-7, 200-pound Rimmer is on track to qualify – and his commitment to the Bulldogs is as solid as ever.

''I'm optimistic about how he'll do down at Mississippi State because his learning curve is so good," Bridgton coach Whit Lesure said. "In the 20 years I've been doing this, he's one of the nicest kids I've ever coached."

``We were worried about things like interior defense, rebounding and inside scoring and he's been a big part of making sure those things haven't been a problem for us," added Lesure. "He's played more physical, he can guard people in the post and on the perimeter and he can score and rebound."

Rimmer, who is a big-time athlete than can run the floor, rebound and block shots, attended Grenada High (Miss.) prior to heading to the prep ranks.
