Jackson In No Rush To End Process

Memphis (TN) Fairley senior Johnnie Jackson hasn't made an official visit yet, but he's starting to formulate a real good list of potential programs.

Six Schools On Jackson's Mind

Memphis Fairley is 19-8 this season. It's star, 6-6 senior swinger Johnnie Jackson is averaging 22 points.

Jackson said that he hasn't visited any schools to date. "Colleges want me to visit but my coach wants me to go after the season is over with," Jackson said. Among the schools showing interest in Jackson are Michigan State, Boston College, Providence, Memphis, Alabama-Birmingham and Arkansas State.

Jackson feels like Providence, Boston College and Arkansas State have laid offers on the table.

"I'm looking for good surroundings with somewhere I can go fit in and get an education and a degree, Jackson said. "I'm looking to learn more and add to my game and be more of a team player."

Jackson says his core GPA is in good shape but he has to achieve a qualifying score on the ACT. "I just have to pass my ACT test. I take that this weekend. I came up one point short last time."

Jackson isn't in a hurry to make a decision. He wants to learn more about all the situations. "I don't know what I am getting myself into so I want to go and visit. I don't want say just yet (who a leader is)."
