On Monday afternoon, Hodge trimmed his list to Florida, Auburn and Kansas. "He will visit three schools and make a decision," Florida Air coach Aubin Goporo said. Not making the cut were Purdue, Florida State, New Mexico and South Florida.
According to Goporo, playing time is going to be the top ingredient to landing the 29-point per game scorer. "He wants to go in and play," Goporo said.
An interesting note to the saga is that of the three schools, just two have offered. Kansas has not made a scholarship offer to date. "Kansas told him to finish his season first and they'll bring him in for a visit," Goporo said. Current Jayhawk Sasha Kaun graduated from Florida Air last season.
Auburn's official visit is slated for March 18. "He told me that he's been to Florida so many times that he knows everything about Florida but it won't hurt to go back again," Goporo said. No date with the Gators has been established.
"All this happened today because we're having a great season," Goporo said. "We're going to the final four and this was getting crazy."
Auburn and Florida are recruiting Hodge as a combo guard while KU is recruiting him for his point guard skills.
