Season's Over But Gordon In No Rush

Oak Hill's season is over. Guard Jamont Gordon finished up as the team's second leading scorer and rebounder. Now it's time he turns his attention to his recruitment.

Tennessee native Jamont Gordon, a 6-foot-4 Top 40 prospect, pumped in 19 points and 7.6 rebounds a game for Oak Hill. Since his arrival in Mouth of Wilson, he's been a standout on the court and improved his academics off it. Now, schools want to lure him to their campus to continue the success but Gordon isn't in a rush.

According to Oak Hill Academy coach Steve Smith, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Florida and Pittsburgh comprise his list. "He's told Mississippi State, Florida and Pittsburgh that he's going to visit them," Smith said.

A tentative visit with Tennessee is set up for April 9-10. Mississippi State had a date picked out as well but it fell during Oak Hill's spring break and Gordon isn't trading family time for recruiting time.

"I'm not sure what they're going to do [about the MSU visit] or when they'll schedule it for," Smith said.

Gordon's schedule is made more complicated by a series of all-star game appearances. A tight schedule could drag his recruitment into May.
