2006 Profile: Kevin Galloway

Kevin Galloway is hearing from a number of programs in the west...

Kevin Galloway, 6-6 JR SF Sacramento (Calif.) High, is a great-looking athlete with the potential to be a high major prospect. He's most effective when slashing to the basket and he's also a good offensive rebounder. He handles the ball well for his size, but decision-making needs work. The biggest question on Galloway will be his jumpshot. If he can improve his shot, he has a chance to be one of the top wings in the west.

We spoke with Galloway yesterday and asked him for a list of schools he's hearing from so far.

"Georgia Tech, Cal, San Francisco, New Mexico, Pacific, Pepperdine, Oregon, Oregon State and USC," said Galloway.

Galloway said coaches from Pepperdine, Oregon State, New Mexico, Fresno State and USF have called him in recent weeks.

"I'm wide open right now," said Galloway. "I'll narrow it down after the summer.

When asked about factors he'll consider when making his choice, Galloway said, "I'll look at how the roster is -- I want to play right away. Right now, I'm thinking about the West Coast."

When questioned about a favorite school when he was growing up, Galloway replied, "UCLA was my dream school."

Galloway plans on taking his time with the decision.

"I'll probably have a top three by the time school starts next year, then decide a couple months later."

Galloway told us he's currently taking an SAT prep course and he'll take the test in a few months.
