Deane Hosting Coaches

Daniel Deane has multiple high major programs coming in to see him...

Daniel Deane, 6-7 JR PF Salt Lake City (Utah) Judge Memorial, is a physical banger who is drawing interest from a number of high major programs. We spoke with Deane yesterday and asked him about the schools currently expressing interest.

"I just visited with Coach Giacoletti from Utah yesterday at my high school," said Deane. "Arizona is supposed to come in sometime in the next couple weeks. Oregon will be in next week and UCLA is visiting me on Sunday."

We asked Deane if any other programs have been expressing serious interest.

"Gonzaga and Illinois have both been calling, but I haven't gotten back to them yet – it's been pretty hectic," said Deane.

Deane has yet to schedule any official visits, but he's already taken several unofficial visits.

"I've been to Utah, UCLA, Stanford, Marquette and Gonzaga," said Deane.

Deane believes he'll have a better feel for his recruitment by the end of this month.

"After the next couple weeks, when I've had a chance to talk with the coaches, I'll have a better idea about which schools I'm really interested in," Deane said.

Deane talked about a few of the issues he'll consider when choosing a school.

"If they're going to be there for the next several years, and have a chance to coach me, that's a big thing," said Deane. "Also, if I'll have a chance to get quality minutes as a freshman. I want to be given a chance to play early and I'd like to possibly be able to start as a sophomore."

Deane doesn't have a firm timeframe for making a decision. "But I'd like to get it done by November," said Deane.
