Jake Wohfeil, 6-3 JR SG El Cajon (Calif.) Christian, has a great three-point stroke and he's improved his ability to put the ball on the floor. Currently ranked #6 among shooting guards, Wohfeil figures to draw interest at the mid to high major level.
We spoke with Jake's father the other day and he told us that some of the schools Jake is interested in include Oregon, Liberty, Gonzaga, St. Louis and Pepperdine, among others.
Mr. Wohfeil told us that geography probably won't play much of a role in Jake's decision. "Being close to home isn't real important to Jake," Mr. Wohfeil said. "The education will be important and he would like to play at a high level."
Mr. Wohfeil pointed out that Jake is a very young junior and hasn't yet turned seventeen, so a redshirt year might not be a bad idea.
Jake has played with the High Five team in the summer and will do so again this year.
Mr. Wohfeil told us Jake will have no trouble qualifying. He had a 3.0 on his last report card and will take the SAT in March.
