Gordon Picks Miss. State

It's all over. Jamont Gordon is going to play in the SEC and it didn't take him very long to decide after a weekend visit to Mississippi State.

Jamont Gordon, Oak Hill's 6-foot-3.5 wing, visited the Mississippi State Bulldogs this past weekend. Shortly after the trip he made his decision.

"I talked to Jamont early this morning and he told me that he wanted me to cancel the other visits and he's committed to Mississippi State," Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. "He plans on signing this week."

Gordon will cancel a scheduled visit to Tennessee and will tell Florida and Pittsburgh that he's reached his decision. Tennessee came in and made him a priority but Mississippi State moved swiftly after last week's school visit with Gordon.

The Bulldogs have again assembled a dynamite recruiting class. In addition to No. 32 Gordon, Monta Ellis has signed with the Bulldogs and even if he should declare for the draft, there is cause for celebration in Starkville.

Vernon Goodridge, Richard Delk, Reginal Delk and Bernard Rimmer picked the Bulldogs early.
