Pittsnogle, Young Could Have Options

In the coming weeks, coaching departures will pick up. Talk of recruits not honoring written or verbal commitments will run rampant. Already, two West Virginia signees have been given the green light to look elsewhere if they choose.

Pittsnogle, Young Should Have Options

In the wake of the sudden retirement of West Virginia head coach Gale Catlett, WVU's two fall signees have apparently been told that they will be granted releases should they seek them.

In-state forward Kevin Pittsnogle inked with the Mountaineers over Pittsburgh, Clemson and NC State. Jabbar Young of National Christian Academy also selected the Mountaineers early.

Now, the possibility exists that one or both of the early signees will remain with the program. However, with releases in hand, the two could be potential spring targets for other programs needing size up front.

Assistant coach Drew Catlett has been promoted to interim head coach for West Virginia.
