Aaron Brooks, 5-11 JR PG Seattle (Wash.) Franklin, is one of the most skilled point guards in the west. He's got a nice outside shot, good quickness and has the ability to break down a defense and create for others. If he gets a little bigger, he has the potential be as good as anyone in the west.
We spoke with Brooks recently and he told us that he hasn't started to narrow his list yet. He's hearing from schools across the country and mentioned Washington, Gonzaga, Nevada, Oregon, Oregon St. and Florida St. as schools that are showing a lot of interest.
We asked if he had any preference about staying close to home and Brooks said, "No, that doesn't matter to me."
Brooks doesn't anticipate making an early decision. "I'll probably wait until November," Brooks said.
Brooks told us that he's averaging 16 points and 7 assists a game this season. He will play with the Rotary Select team in the spring and summer.
