Morrison Puts Recruitment On Hold

St. Petersburg (FL) Lakewood senior Marcus Morrison, one of the gems to emerge from December tournament play, is gearing up for the state tournament. Meanwhile, he's entertaining calls from some nice programs.

Morrison's Team Sits At 29-2

Lakewood senior Marcus Morrison is doing his part. The athletic winger is averaging 22 points every time he steps onto the court. His team is 29-2 and won both the conference and district championships. His recruitment, which has picked up, is now on hold.

"Most of the coaches are just waiting until the end of season," Morrison said of potential visits. He's already been to Fresno State. The list reads UMass, Oklahoma, Iowa, Boston College, Tulane and Fresno State. However, he hasn't heard from the Bulldogs or Sooners in a short while.

Morrison feels like Auburn, Tulane and UMass have offered. The Minutemen were in town on Wednesday for a practice session.

"I'm really open but I want something that's not too far but a good program where I can try and get to the next level."
