Wilmore Picks A-10 Program

Noel Wilmore made his college decision Wednesday evening. The 6-foot-3 senior shooting guard is destined to play in the Atlantic 10.

The George Washington Colonials landed the guy they wanted – and needed – Wednesday night. Noel Wilmore, a shooting guard out of Chester (Pa.) High, committed to the Colonials.

"Coach Hobbs told me that in December they struggled because teams played them zone and they didn't really have a guy who could set up and knock down shots," Wilmore said. "So, I'm filling that void for Coach Hobbs."

Wilmore had an excellent senior season at Chester shooting the basketball. His big time GPA and shooter's touch drew interest from Northwestern, Georgetown, Boston College and Temple.

However, Karl Hobbs' background and assistant coach Roland Houston's ties to the Philly area, assisted in getting this done. "Coach Hobbs and Coach Houston have developed a great support system," Wilmore said. "It's like a family. A lot of people are concerned for the betterment of the players on and off the court. Academically, the players are getting tons of support. That really stood out."

Maybe more than anything, Wilmore relishes the opportunity to come in and do what he does best: make shots.

"I just play hard and do the small things. I shoot the ball from the outside."
