Junior Update: Chad Burger

Chad Burger, a 6-6 junior power forward from Colorado, hasn't received a lot of hype from national recruiting analysts, but he's on the list of several West Coast schools...

Chad Burger, 6-6 JR PF Colorado Springs (Col.) Doherty, is an interesting prospect who didn't get a lot of exposure last summer since he played on the younger Colorado Select team. He's got a nice frame, moves well, good ball handling skills and he can shoot it fairly well out to three-point range.

We spoke with him the other day and learned that San Diego, Colorado St., Utah and Stanford have all expressed early interest. He mentioned Stanford as a school that he's particularly interested in.

Early playing time is not a concern for Burger. "I don't necessarily expect to play early and redshirting would be fine," Burger said. "I will look at the roster, though, to see if there would be time available by my second year."

Originally from Hemet, Calif., Burger moved to Colorado in the sixth grade. "I really like the West Coast -- I like the weather," Burger said. "And I'd like to get back there if possible. But I don't really care too much about location as long as I'm getting my education paid for."

Burger told us that he currently has a GPA of 4.2 and he'll take the ACT and SAT in April and May.
