Ohio Sleeper Decides

Haven't heard of Nate Aldridge? Don't feel bad. You're not alone. The South Webster High (Ohio) 6-foot-6 rising senior power forward has flown under the radar - until now, when he committed to play for a big-time coach.

Nick Aldridge isn't invited to any of the shoe camps. Despite putting up a double-double at South Webster High (Ohio), he still has managed to fly under the radar.

Well, those days are over for the 6-foot-6, 230-pound rising senior forward – as Aldridge committed to Cincinnati during a weekend visit, according to a source close to the situation.

``He's a real sleeper," the source said.

Aldridge was being recruited primarily by Atlantic-10 caliber schools until Bob Huggins and his staff got involved in April. Aldridge played with the West Virginia Wildcats at the Kingwood Classic and the Bearcats staff got a good look at the tough, hard-nosed undersized power forward.

Aldridge, described as a shorter version of Iowa's Greg Brunner, averaged 27.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as a junior.
