Harden Still Open

Joe Harden, a 6-5 junior shooting guard from Northern California, has a Big West offer and several other schools expressing interest...

Joe Harden, 6-5 JR SG Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary's, gave us an update recently on the schools he's been hearing from so far.

"I've been hearing from Stanford and St. Mary's," said Harden. "I was supposed to go play at their open gyms, but I've got finals and can't make it now."

Harden went on to say, "Notre Dame has called my coach and USC has also been calling Mats (AAU coach Darren Matsubara). I've been talking to UC Santa Barbara and Pacific has been calling a bit."

We asked Harden about offers and he replied, "UC Davis has offered. My coach said Arkansas is thinking about offering. USC offered back during football season, when Bibby was stil the coach."

Harden said he doesn't have a leader at this point. "Out of this group, I pretty much like them all."

Harden has yet to take any official visits, but he has visited some schools unofficially.

"I've been to Stanford a couple times and I'm going to their camp," said Harden. "I've been to Pacific, of course, and I went to football games at USC and Notre Dame."

Harden said he plans on taking his official visits after July.
