Rumble In The Bay, Part Two

Zane Johnson, Russell Westbrook and Elijah Holman were among the playes who caught our attention at the Rumble In The Bay...

Here's a look at some more players who caught our attention at the Rumble In The Bay this past weekend.

Ryan Anderson, 6-8 JR C El Dorado Hills (Calif.) Oak Ridge. Anderson is a face-up five man who can shoot it out to the three-point line. He has good ball skills for a post, but played almost exclusively on the perimeter in the game we saw. He's got some size to him and he's a fair athlete. He should get plenty of looks at the mid major level and possibly higher.

Russell Westbrook, 6-2 JR SG Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger. Baby-faced guard with a nice frame – good length – and a knack for scoring. Doesn't look physically mature yet, could get bigger. Possible mid-major prospect.

Chris Gweth, 6-0 JR SG Hillsboro (Ore.) High. Very solid player with an excellent feel and the ability to knock down shots. Strong body and long arms. He has range to the stripe, but also a good mid-range game. We liked the fact that he always stayed under control and showed good shot selection. A likely low to mid-major prospect.

Eric Platt, 6-4 JR SG Caspar (Wyo.) Kelly Walsh. Somewhat thick body, and just an average athlete, but he's got a good stroke and feel for the game. Good court vision and passing ability. Possible mid major prospect.

Elijah Holman, 6-8 SO C Richmond (Calif.) High. A very good-looking young post, Holman has a great frame and moves very well. He has the potential to be a big-time shot blocker. Good rebounder, offensive game is still limited at this point. With development, a potential high major prospect.

Zane Johnson, 6-5 SO SG/SF Phoenix (Ariz.) Thunderbird. Johnson is one of the better wing prospects in the west for 2007. He's got good size, a high skill level and a nice feel for the game. He shoots it well to the stripe and has good court vision. With continued development, a potential high major prospect.

Jeremy Franklin, 6-2 SO SG San Leandro (Calif.) High. Franklin is a good athlete, with a nice build. His shot has improved since we last saw him and he made several threes in the games we watched. He has good quickness and the potential to become a very good defender.

Nnumdi Elendu, 6-5 FR SF/PF Pleasanton (Calif.) Foothill. Elendu just started playing a couple years ago, but he has a chance to be very good someday. Great body, very good athlete and competes well. Skills still need to develop, but a high physical upside.

Cory Douglas, 6-7 FR PF Oakland (Calif.) Castlemont. Somewhat mature-looking freshman, but very long and a pretty good shot blocker.

Brett Sayad, 6-5 FR SF/SG Ceres (Calif.) High. Good-looking young wing with nice frame and ball skills. Solid stroke with range.
