Austin Likes Four

Kyle Austin tells us he's got four schools from the Pac-10, WCC and Big West at the top of his list...

Kyle Austin, 6-7 JR PF Pasadena (Calif.) High, was somewhat under the radar until his team played Dominguez at the Pond in March for the CIF championship.

Austin was very impressive in that game, showing a fairly high skill level and a knack for rebounding. Pasadena lost the game, but Austin did his best to keep the Bulldogs in it until the end.

We spoke with Austin last night and he gave us a list of schools he's been hearing from lately.

"USC, Washington, Pacific and San Francisco," said Austin. "Those are the four I'm hearing the most from now."

We asked if it would be fair to characterize those schools as his leaders and Austin replied, "yes."

When asked what he is looking for in a school, Austin said, "I want to stay on the West Coast. Someplace where they play fast and uptempo. Early playing time is not a big deal."

Austin hasn't scheduled any official visits yet, but said he'd like to visit all four schools on his list sometime after July.
