2006 Focus: Kevin Coble

Kevin Coble, a rising senior forward from Arizona, is a very good prospect and an outstanding student. Here's the latest on his recruitment...

Kevin Coble, 6-7 SR SF Phoenix (Ariz.) Scottsdale Christian, is a skilled forward with a nice shot.

We spoke with Coble last night and he gave us a list of schools he's heard from so far.

"Northwestern, New Mexico, Pepperdine, all the Ivy schools, Arizona, Arizona State, Stanford, Washington State, Notre Dame and Nebraska," said Coble.

Coble took an official visit to Northwestern in May and we asked him about the trip.

"It was great, I really enjoyed it," said Coble. "It was a good experience."

Coble has also taken unofficial visits to Pepperdine (last week), Stanford and Arizona. He'll be visiting New Mexico unofficially this weekend.

Coble talked about some of the issues he'll consider when choosing a school.

"First I'll look at the academics and the courses offered," said Coble. "Education is going to play a big part. Also, a solid basketball program. Location is not an issue -- I'll go wherever I feel is the best place for me."

Coble said he has no timeframe for making a decision, but would like to sign in November. He told us he has a 3.8 GPA and scored 1790 on the SAT.
