Top 100 Forward To The SEC

Michael Washington, a Top 100 prospect from the Class of 2006, has made his decision. After making an unofficial visit to an SEC program, Washington recently made a commitment.

Michael Washington is returning to his one-time homestate. The 6-foot-9 prospect out of Cleveland (Tex.) Heritage Christian, committed to Arkansas on Wednesday.

Washington, a native of Arkansas, transferred to Heritage Christian last season. His AAU coach, Tony Moore, confirmed the commitment with Hogs Illustrated.

""Yes, it's true," Arkansas Wings assistant coach Tony Moore told the site. "We're driving back from up there right now after visiting."

Washington is a big time athlete with upside and potential. He first came onto the scene at McGehee High in Arkansas where he put up solid numbers. Returning home was important to him.

"It means a lot to me," Washington said. "My family can come see me play."

The Hogs have plans to use Washington all over the place. He can play some facing the basket and is athletic and bouncy. That versatility was attractive to the Razorbacks.

"They'll play me at the three and the four," Washington said. "I'll need to work on my ball handling and my footwork."
