With The Season Over Williams Looks At Schools

Oxon Hill's season ended with a loss in the regional finals. The Chris Williams led team finished 22-2 on the year. Now, according to one of his coaches, he'll turn his attention toward picking a school.

Williams To Play In Cap Classic

Chris Williams, a 6-5 small forward from Oxon Hill (MD) High, is one of the better remaining prospects on the East Coast. Right now, his school list reads UMass, LaSalle and Drake. He visited Drake the weekend of February 22.

"They (Drake) were involved with another kid from this area and they gave him a call and stayed on him," Oxon Hill assistant Lamar Barrett said. "They just came in like three times and flew in twice and then sent the head coach. I don't know where they came from but they really want him."

Both LaSalle and UMass have been down to see him. UMass could get something set up with him in the next few weeks.

Plenty of schools came in to watch Williams, Barrett said, but UMass, LaSalle and Drake came hard. "Those are the only schools that came in the strongest. Virginia came in and watched him for a day. Western Kentucky came in and so did Notre Dame but they haven't been back. There were some schools that were still evaluating."
