Zahn Has List of Four

Adam Zahn, a 6-7 power forward from Redondo Beach, tells us he's still considering schools in the Pac-10, Mountain West, WCC and Big Ten...

Adam Zahn, 6-7 SR PF Redondo Beach (Calif.) Redondo Union, has seen his list change somewhat since he last time we spoke with him.

We talked with Zahn a few days ago and he told us his four finalists now are San Diego St., Oregon, Illinois and Pepperdine.

We asked Zahn to give us his thoughts on each school and this was his response:

"San Diego is two hours away, so it's not too close, but also not too far. The weather is great and I really like the staff."

"Illinois is a big-time program, the education is great, but it is kind of far away and it's a lot different than what I'm used to."

"As for Oregon, I have family in Oregon. There's a great education, a really good staff and I like the campus. I saw the campus earlier this year when I went up there for the Oregon-Arizona game."

"Pepperdine -- I love Westphal and I know the staff real well obviously (Zahn's former high school coach Jim Nielsen is an assistant at Pepperdine)."

He told us he plans on taking an official trip to Oregon and Illinois sometime in the next month or so, and expects to reach a decision shortly thereafter.
