Jackson's Recruiting Taking Shape

Memphis (TN) Fairley senior swing man Johnnie Jackson came up short of winning a state championship. However, an early round playoffs loss shouldn't tarnish a terrific senior campaign that has been the springboard for plenty of recruiting interest.

Jackson Needs Only Test Score

Johnnie Jackson, a 6-5 winger for Memphis Fairley, averaged 23 points per game this season. However, he didn't get to cut down the nets. "We came up a little short," Jackson said of his team that lost in the regionals. "I enjoyed it. I wish I could have went farther but it didn't turn out that way."

Meanwhile, numerous schools have made inroads in his recruitment during the long season. Jackson now lists Michigan State, Boston College, Arkansas State, Providence and UMass as programs he likes.

Providence and Arkansas State want him to make official campus visits and both have offered.

"My grades are good. I just have to get my ACT," Jackson said. The senior will take the ACT April 6. He's been ever so close each time he's taken it.
