Keion Kindred, 6-3 PG Compton (Calif.) Dominguez, committed to UTEP late last summer. But his mother urged him wait until spring, in order to see what other offers might come. Kindred complied with her wishes and he now has a number of schools showing interest.
We spoke with Kindred yesterday and he told us that his current list includes Oklahoma St., Georgia Tech, Providence, Temple and UTEP. Kindred said, "they're all about equal, but UTEP might have an edge just because they've been there the longest."
Kindred visited Oklahoma St. in early March. "It's a beautiful campus," Kindred said. "It has a small town atmosphere, which is something I'd have to get used to being from L.A." We asked for his impressions of the staff and Kindred said, "Coach Sutton and his staff were great. Coach Sutton is one of the best in the game and his name speaks for itself."
Kindred has already visited UTEP and he hopes to visit either Providence or Temple in the next week or so. He also plans on playing in some AAU events in the spring in order to give coaches more opportunities to see him play.
