Pirates Raid Georgia For Guard

Bill Herrion and the East Carolina Pirates have found themselves a roommate for incoming freshman Corey Rouse. On Tuesday, a Georgia combo guard made his college intentions public.

Rivers To East Carolina

Atlanta (GA) Douglass High senior Belton Rivers, a 6-3 point guard committed to East Carolina.

"I love the coach (Bill Herrion) and I liked the players that they have," Rivers told TheInsidersHoops.com. "Actually, when I went to see them play against Marquette, I liked the way that he coached and that's the style of ball I play."

Rivers' team didn't do so well this year, but it wasn't because of his effort. Rivers put 32 points a night. If you're keeping score at home that would be 15 more points a game as a senior. "I was the only senior and had to step up and carry my team. I liked it better last year averaging 17 but winning."

Rivers received interest from South Carolina, Miami-FL and Kansas State. His only two visits were Alabama State and East Carolina. He played last summer with Linzy Davis and Team Georgia Elite.
