Michael Bell To Transfer

Redshirt freshman Michael Bell, a Raleigh native, is leaving the N.C. State basketball program, according to sources close to Bell. The announcement will be made public in the very near future.

Bell Likely To Look For A Junior College

Michael Bell, a 6-9 redshirt freshman, is transferring from N.C. State, sources close to Bell confirmed on Thursday. Currently, his destination is unknown.

Bell had surgery as a true freshman on both his knees. This season, he played sparingly. Known for his shooting stroke in high school, Bell signed with N.C. State and was a Top 100 level recruit out of Enloe, where he teamed with Chris Wilcox.

According to sources, the most likely plan for Bell is to go the junior college route. By doing this, he would be able to play next season and still have two years remaining with which to play Division I ball.

If Bell opts not go to go the juco route, Louisiana State, Virginia Tech, South Carolina and Western Carolina would be some schools that are interested.
