Spears Finishes First Visit

Aaron Spears completed his first official visit over the weekend. After a trip to Iowa went well, Spears has another venture on the horizon and could possibly a few more stops before he picks a college.

Iowa Visit Goes Well

Chicago (IL) Dunbar senior Aaron Spears visited Iowa last weekend.

"It went real good," Spears said. "The whole atmosphere, the coaches and the team were great. They were real down to earth people."

Iowa is recruiting Spears as a power forward and that really appeals to him. "They just told me that they wanted me and how I would play if come there."

Spears did not offer a commitment to Iowa during his visits and is not done taking official trips. His next stop will be to Illinois, the weekend of April 5.

Spears, who generally has kept Illinois and Iowa on his list all year long, said he would like to visit Houston and Miami-FL as well. "Miami has always been in the picture. I always had a little bit of liking for (Houston) because I have some family down there."

Oregon, which had received mention in the past, did not this time around. "They haven't really called."

Spears insisted that he wanted to go through the process before making a decision.
