Catching Up With Matt Bouldin

Scout.com caught up with combo guard Matt Bouldin last week. The Thunder Ridge guard is getting his recruitment together with at least one visit in mind.

Matt Bouldin remained loyal. Schools came knocking but he's kept his list small. The 6-foot-4 combo guard out of Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Thunder Ridge, has never lost his focus.

"Really it's just the main schools that I've been focusing on," Bouldin said. "A lot of schools aren't getting on because I'm focusing on the main schools right now."

The main schools Bouldin is looking at are Gonzaga, Cal, Notre Dame, Boston College, North Carolina State and Connecticut (no offer to date). Sources tell us that the Zags, Irish and Golden Bears are the strongest and the others would need some help to move up the list.

California received a visit earlier in the year toward the end of his junior season.

So, what or who is next for Bouldin? How many schools are guaranteed visits?

"I'm definitely visiting Gonzaga and after that it really just depends," Bouldin said. "I don't know where else I'll go. If I need another visit I'll probably go to Notre Dame for sure. Right now I know I'm definitely visiting Gonzaga."

"Really I'm impressed with all of them right now. It's going to be a tough decision. They're all doing as much as they can.

"I don't have a leader, that's for sure. I'm really having a hard time with this. I haven't seen a lot of the other schools and I've visited Cal a long time ago."

Bouldin was able to heat his recruitment up despite a July injury. He fractured his fibula at the adidas Superstar Camp.
