We spoke with Marcus Isaac, 6-9 JR C Peoria (Ariz.) High, last night and he told us that he's wide open at this point, with a long list of potential schools.
Isaac mentioned UConn, USC, Arizona, UNLV, Nevada, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, North Carolina, New Mexico and Oregon St. as schools that have sent him mail and he has interest in all of them.
When we asked if there was a school growing up which he admired, Isaac said, "Arizona. It's a local school and Lute Olson is a great coach."
Isaac singled out education and chemistry with his future teammates as two factors that would weigh heavily in his decision. He doesn't anticipate making an early commitment and said he would take his time in choosing a school.
Isaac also said that early playing time is not a real concern. "Early time is not a big deal," Isaac said. "I wouldn't mind being on the sidelines early and getting acclimated to college."
With both Arizona and Arizona St. being nearby, Isaac has had many opportunities to attend games and see the campus of each school.
Isaac told us he's doing well academically and will have no problem qualifying. He took the ACT recently, but hasn't yet received his results.
