Herzog Looking At Three

Tom Herzog has himself a list of three schools. The 7-foot center out of Flint (Mich.) Powers isn't going far from home.

Tom Herzog, Scout.com's 52nd ranked player in the Class of 2006, was never going to stray too far from home for college. The Flint Powers standout – all 7-feet of him – wanted to make sure his family could see him play college basketball.

Well, mission accomplished because Herzog's final three schools are reflective of his wishes. Notre Dame, Michigan State and Michigan comprise his final list. Herzog visited Michigan last spring and has visits set up (see database) for Michigan State in September and Notre Dame in October.

"I really don't have a leader but sometimes I kind of have a top two," Herzog said. "I don't want to say anything about it though."

What Herzog will discuss is the type of program he's looking to align himself with. "I want to be able to fit in with the coach and the players," Herzog said. "I want to feel like I can really be a part of the team. I want to be able to play; I don't need to start but I want to play.

"The major factor was location but all the schools I've narrowed it down are close to me. I want my family to be able to come in and watch me."
